Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Negativa LLC (“Negativa,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use negativa.world, app.negativa.world, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

In brief: your entries are used to provide the philosophical reflection you request and to keep your Journey available to you. Relevant content is sent to an AI provider to generate a Reading or Constellation. We use limited usage data to operate and improve the Services. We do not sell your reflection content or use it for advertising or AI-model training.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:

  • Account and session information, including an anonymous user identifier and session token created when you first use the application, and your email address if you add it to recover or access your account.
  • Reflection content, including Encounter responses, written reflections, selected responses (including feeling and discomfort selections), judgments, revisions, personalized Readings, and Constellation data.
  • Transaction information. Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment provider identified at checkout. We may receive limited information such as transaction status, amount, product purchased, and associated account, but we do not directly store complete payment-card details.
  • Technical and usage information, such as IP address, browser and device information, page URLs and visits, analytics identifiers, request and error logs, and feature interactions. We also receive basic Reading-generation metadata, such as the Encounter type, status, and duration.
  • Communications and marketing information,including support requests, feedback, survey responses, and an email address submitted through our waitlist or notification form.

2. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

  • Create and authenticate anonymous or email-linked accounts;
  • Provide, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the Services;
  • Generate and display personalized philosophical readings;
  • Save your entries and make your Journey available to you;
  • Generate user-requested cross-entry themes and constellations;
  • Process one-time purchases, deliver paid readings, and handle refunds;
  • Respond to questions, account requests, and feedback;
  • Evaluate and improve the quality and reliability of the Services without using reflection content to train or fine-tune an AI model;
  • Prevent misuse, fraud, and security incidents; and
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

3. AI-Assisted Processing

Negativa uses third-party artificial-intelligence API providers to generate Readings, Constellations, and related features. When you request one, we send the relevant Encounter responses and other content needed for that feature to the configured provider. The provider processes that content to return an output and may retain it under its applicable security and abuse-monitoring terms.

Negativa does not use reflection content to train or fine-tune an AI model. Under our current provider's business and API terms, submitted inputs and outputs are not used to train provider models by default. We do not intentionally opt reflection content into provider model training.

Our providers may change as the Service evolves. We will update this Policy before using a provider whose training practices would materially change how reflection content is handled.

AI-generated interpretations may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unexpected. Negativa is for education and self-knowledge, not psychological help, professional advice, diagnosis, treatment, or emergencies. Your writing may nonetheless be personal or sensitive. Please do not submit medical records, payment-card information, government identification numbers, another person's confidential information, or anything you do not want processed as described here.

4. How We Share Information

We may share information with:

  • Service providers that support hosting, databases, AI processing, payments, email delivery, analytics, communications, security, and customer support;
  • Government authorities or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or prevent fraud or misuse;
  • A successor or participating organization in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets; and
  • Other parties when you direct us or provide consent.

Negativa does not sell personal information or reflection content. We do not use reflection content for third-party advertising or AI-model training. Your entries and Readings are available through your account; they are not publicly posted or automatically shared with another participant or a partner. If you choose to share them yourself, that choice is yours.

5. Local Storage, Cookies, and Similar Technologies

The application uses browser local storage and a first-party, same-site cookie to store a session token that keeps you signed in and associates your device with your account. The token ordinarily remains valid for up to 30 days unless it is replaced, cleared, or invalidated. The Services may also use necessary cookies or similar technologies for security, preferences, reliability, and performance. We use PostHog analytics on the public site for page visits and in the app for selected feature and Reading lifecycle events. Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers across negativa.world and app.negativa.world. We configure analytics without automatic click capture or session recording, and do not intentionally send your reflection text or Reading text in analytics events. Disabling or clearing storage may sign you out or affect account recovery and other features.

6. Data Retention

We retain account information, reflection content, reports, and related records while your account remains active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services. You may request deletion by contacting us. We may retain limited information when required for legal compliance, transaction records, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, or enforcement of our agreements. Deleted information may remain temporarily in backups until those backups are overwritten.

Entries created without an email address may be associated only with an anonymous account and device-held session token. If that token is lost or cleared before you add an email address, we may be unable to identify, recover, or delete those entries in response to a request. We may retain aggregated or de-identified information that no longer reasonably identifies an individual.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Choices and Requests

You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with you by contacting support@negativa.world. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. You may unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link included in those messages.

Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide additional privacy rights. We will respond to verifiable requests as required by applicable law.

9. Children's Privacy

The Services are intended only for people who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a person under 18 has submitted personal information, contact us so that we can review and delete it as appropriate.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Services evolve. We will post the revised version here and update its effective date. If a change materially expands how we use previously collected reflection content or other personal information, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by law.
